Homemade Marinara/Spaghetti Sauce

This is our basic spaghetti sauce recipe ... sometimes we add ground beef, meatballs or chicken (o:

Ingredients:

2 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
4 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
garlic cloves (depending on how much you like garlic. My husband & I LOVE garlic & usually throw in about 10 whole cloves)
1 tablespoon garlic powder (once again ... depends on how much you like garlic)
2 tablespoon white sugar
4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
4 teaspoons dried oregano
2 pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Directions:

In a large skillet combine crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, garlic, sugar, vinegar, oregano and red pepper flakes. Stir together and simmer over low heat for at least 1 hour. Stir frequently to prevent burning.

This will make a big pot of marinara/spaghetti sauce ... luckily it freezes wonderfully (o: We were very happy when we saw that Costco started carrying organic crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce & tomato paste.
